The conference is centred on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and workforce readiness, with a clear focus on supporting students to develop a broader understanding of career progression, portfolio development, and the evolving scope of paramedic practice. The programme brings together a dynamic combination of sessions showcasing the breadth of contemporary paramedic career pathways alongside clinically focused presentations, equipping attendees with strategic career insight while strengthening the knowledge and skills required for modern frontline practice.

Conference Content The programme will consist of a series of 40-minute keynote presentations delivered by experienced clinicians and subject matter experts from a range of medical and paramedical backgrounds. While a core element of the day focuses on exposing students to the diversity of career pathways available beyond initial registration — including paramedic roles within the cruise ship industry, expedition medicine, primary care roles, HART and DAAT — the event is intentionally balanced with clinically-focused sessions directly relevant to frontline paramedic practice. These additional talks will explore contemporary clinical themes, decision-making challenges, and areas of practice development to ensure the conference supports not only career insight but also immediate clinical application. This approach is designed to reinforce core professional identity, promote reflective practice, and enhance students’ understanding of the broader clinical landscape in which paramedics now operate. The conference aims to complement the academic curriculum by bridging clinical development with career planning insight, strengthening graduate preparedness for a modern and increasingly diverse paramedic workforce.
