Foundations of Functional Imagery TrainingDescriptionDiscover how to use multisensory mental imagery to build motivation, plan actions, and strengthen confidence. This self-guided course uses innovative multimedia teaching techniques to help you understand how functional imagery training works and what makes it so effective. Learn: • the science behind FIT • how to work with imagery, even when clients have low imagery ability, • how FIT combines imagery and motivational interviewing to maximise desire for change, • how FIT uses imagery to strengthen goal setting and planning, • ways to elicit imagery of past success and amplify confidence to move forward, • how to develop clients' habits of using imagery for motivation. Foundations of FIT is essential preparation for training as a FIT practitioner. It is worth 5 CPD hours. This course is aimed at practitioners with experience in person-centred, empathic communication. To strengthen this skill, we recommend taking Communication Skills for Behaviour Change before this course.
