Who is the course aimed at:

If you are keen to improve your MSK assessment and treatment skills this study day has been designed for you. It is particularly relevant to those that have perhaps not practiced in this area for some time or where MSK does not form the main part of their current caseload. The pace will be steady and supportive with plenty of opportunities for hands-on practice. Vasileios Lepesis is both a podiatrist and a Plymouth University lecturer with extensive experience in the subject area.

Course content:

  • History taking (includes pain sources and hypothetico-deductive clinical reasoning model)
  • Physical examination of the lower limb (includes MSK tests and their relevance to support clinical diagnosis)
  • Treatment principles (includes exercise therapy, foot orthoses and manual therapy)

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Understand how the differentiation between pain sources could lead to effective clinical diagnosis and holistic treatment approaches.
  • Confidence to start implementing examination and treatment principles to your MSK patients.
