We are offering two courses, an introductory and an advanced one.

An introduction to CBT to support individuals with long-term conditions

This 2-day course is for psychologists and health professionals who work with individuals with long-term health conditions and who wish to provide greater support and understanding to their clients.

The course provides cognitive approaches that will enhance practice in supporting individuals in making behaviour change and managing their long-term conditions more effectively. The focus of the course is on increasing self-awareness, improving communication skills, and developing an understanding of principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and emotional intelligence. (This course is not designed to provide CBT therapy skills.)

Date: 28 and 29 November 2017, 09:00 – 17:00

Advanced CBT approaches to support the management of individuals with long-term conditions

This 2-day course will build on the knowledge and understanding achieved through attendance at the introductory course. The focus will be on developing a positive sense of self; understanding cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) formulation and socratic questioning; and exploring the journey towards acceptance. There will be an introduction to mindfulness techniques as an aid to help people manage their cognitions.

Please note that to enrol onto the advanced course you must have first completed the introductory course.
